Being only a 90-minute flight from 60 percent of the nation's population, sharing a border with Windsor and having 40,000 competitively priced hotel rooms are just three of many reasons why Detroit serves as an excellent meeting destination. If you're a meeting planner considering Detroit for a meeting, conference, convention or reunion, you will undoubtedly need to think about food. Listed below are six group-friendly Detroit restaurants that can accommodate your crew:

  1. Andiamo Detroit Riverfront
Andiamo Detroit Riverfront is located in the heart of Detroit at the General Motors Renaissance Center. There are four private space options available depending on the amount of people, and Andiamo's banquet menu includes breakfast, lunch and dinner options, as well as executive meeting packages. With its beautiful view of the Detroit River, Andiamo prides itself as being the "premier venue for celebrations large or small."

  2. Granite City Food & Brewery
Another great option, also located inside the Renaissance Center, is Granite City Food & Brewery, a "polished casual restaurant with an on-site brewery." Whether you're looking for a breakfast, lunch, dinner or even a "beer dinner" (say what?) destination, check out Granite City's catering and private events menu. You can also book your event online by clicking the "book an event" tab.

  3. Hard Rock Café Detroit
Who hasn't been to a Hard Rock? Hard Rock Café Detroit, however, "rocks" group events. In addition to its famous Classic Tee add-on option (yes, for real!), Hard Rock, located on Monroe, also has many group menu choices, all of which can be viewed online in the groups, special events and meetings section.

  4. Hockeytown Café
If you are looking for a Detroit restaurant that can accommodate 30 people or 1,000, Hockeytown Café on Woodward is the place, even on game days. All events are customizable for a "truly unique and memorable experience." For more venue and contact information, visit the private parties link on Hockeytown's website.

  5. HopCat Detroit
The Huma Room, HopCat Detroit's spectacular second floor venue and outdoor patio, is available for private parties of up to 400 or more. Whether you're thinking a formal sit-down meal or a more casual cocktail party, check out your options by visiting the events tab on HopCat Detroit's website.

  6. Pegasus Taverna
With one location in Greektown and another right outside Detroit in St. Clair Shores, Pegasus Taverna has "set the standard for the unforgettable Greek dining experience" 365 days a year for over two decades. Pegasus' traditional Greek cuisine menu satisfies any type of palette, making many want to join in and say, "Opa!"
