American Idol Sings Detroit’s Praises
There’s a harmonious buzz in Detroit lately. While it’s in part due to the many positive changes taking place in the comeback city’s downtown core, it’s also led by the welcoming of an exciting 13-year tradition and worldwide phenomenon: American Idol.
American Idol auditions will hum through Detroit this weekend at Ford Field (2000 Brush Street, #200, Detroit, MI 48226), home of the Detroit Lions and the host venue to many chart-topping performances throughout the year. Idol chose Detroit as part of its seven-city tour for its large surrounding population and impressive musical background. Surely you’ve heard of Motown…
If you’re all warmed up and are ready to rock, Registration Day is Saturday, July 20, and auditions will be held Sunday, July 21. Click below for important registration information and forms:
A few things to keep in mind:
- You must register and pick up your wristband and ticket prior to the audition.
- If you are under the age of 18, you must bring a parent or legal guardian to registration, and they must register with you as well.
- You must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work full-time in the U.S., and between the ages of 15 and 28 years old as of May 16, 2013.
- You must bring two forms of ID to registration that show proof of your age and a photograph (e.g., birth certificate, driver’s license, passport and/or school ID card).
