Ambassador Bridge

Detroiters, take pride. Praise for The D is almost too plentiful to count these days. These writers have thrown misconceptions out the window and shined a spotlight on some of the great things the city has to offer. Take a look.

Budget-Friendly Detroit
While some major cities cost an arm and a leg to experience, Detroit offers a wide array of activities for no cost at all. Midwest Living published a list of "Top Free Things To Do in Michigan," with Detroit's walking tours, the GM Renaissance Center and the International RiverWalk making the list.

Arrivals and Departures
First impressions are everything — and Detroit's is getting a round of applause. The Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport was included on the community feedback-driven "2016 Travelers' Choice Favorites" for U.S. airports.

'Magnificent Motor City'
After stops at the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Peterboro and 8 Degrees Plato, travel blogger Lucia Borgmann of Wanderlust Lucia posted a rave review of the "magnificent motor city."

'Welcome to Art City'
The Star is the latest media outlet to praise the "artist-led" rebirth of Detroit. The article provides insight on the transformation and tips for travel from locals and creative folks around town.

'The City of the Future'
The Telegraph provides a frank and honest overview of the true struggles Detroit has faced over the years — and the undeniable passion and hope that's bringing it into a new era. Not surprisingly, it named Detroit one of the "15 U.S. cities you never thought to visit (but really should)."

We know Detroit is great. But don't just take our word for it.
