One of the greatest things about downtown is the variety of cuisine available at the many locally owned and uniquely Detroit dining establishments. However, some travelers take comfort knowing they have the option of grabbing a bite to eat at a chain with familiar menu options, food quality and value.

Buffalo Wild Wings:

The nation’s largest BWW is a three-story establishment that also boasts a rooftop patio and 95 HDTV screens. Bonus: Your Detroit Tigersticket stub is worth six free boneless chicken wings anytime the Tigers score six or more runs at a home game.

Olga’s Kitchen: Stop in to Olga’s at Compuware Plaza to enjoy a famous Original Olga or the many other sandwiches, salads and soups on the menu. This Michigan original is great for kids and families, too.

Hard Rock Café Detroit: Here you’ll find memorabilia representing Detroit legends such as the Temptations, Diana Ross, Eminem and Kid Rock. Be sure to try the Local Legendary burger topped with chili, yellow onions, American cheese and a Carolina mustard barbeque sauce. Note: The local burger changes but is always inspired by local flavor.

Subway: Home of the $5 footlong and $4 lunch, Subway has several locations within the downtown Detroit area including the Renaissance Center, Grand Circus Park and the First National Building. Don’t forget, Subway is also open for breakfast.

Texas de Brazil: This authentic Brazilian-American churrascaria combines the cuisine of Southern Brazil with the generous spirit of Texas. It features a 60-item salad and appetizer bar as well as endless hand-carved beef, lamb, chicken, pork and more.

With plans to keep adding chains, such as Bagger Dave’s, to downtown and the surrounding area, the existence of these establishments is also a great sign of the continued growth and investment in the city’s key areas.
