The 97.1 The Ticket SportsFest is Detroit’s biggest fan appreciation event and your best opportunity to meet some of your favorite Detroit sports stars. Current and former athletes from the Detroit Red Wings, Pistons, Tigers and Lions will be at SportsFest to sign autographs and meet fans Saturday, Feb. 16 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.
Detroit is a great sports town—there’s no doubt about that. Detroit is also a great sports bar town. We fill our stadiums for Red Wings, Lions, Tigers and Pistons games, and when the stadiums are full the fans spill out into local watering holes to cheer on their favorite teams. There’s camaraderie on Detroit’s barstools. If tickets to the big game are sold out, not to worry—there’s a seat for you at one of Detroit’s top sports bars.

Baseball fans coming to Detroit for the World Series this weekend won’t have any problems finding things to do before and after the games. “We hope fans coming to Detroit for the World Series take the opportunity to explore our world-class museums, eat in our delicious restaurants, take a walk along our revitalized riverfront, and check out everything that our city has to offer,” said Larry Alexander, Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau President & CEO. “We know baseball will be top of mind this weekend, but there are so many other things to see and do in Detroit before and after the games.”
The roar has officially been restored at Ford Field. The Detroit Lions are making waves in the NFL with players such as hard-hitting Ndamukong Suh and franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford, and the Motor City is anxious to have a football party at Ford Field. Fortunately this is the week; Thursday, the Lions started the preseason at home in The D against the Buffalo Bills, followed by the Inaugural Gridiron Classic on Friday. Are you ready to roar?
