These bands bring it!

The annual music festival — put on by Michigan alternative newspaper Metro Times — showcases local talent, with some of the best bands in Detroit taking over multiple venues over multiple days.

This year Blowout — one of the longest-running and largest events of its kind in the country — expands to two weekends. It kicks off Thursday, April 25 at Detroit’s Magic Stick, and then moves to venues in Hamtramck (April 26–27) and Ferndale (May 2–4).

Blowout is a great way to sample tunes from the Detroit music scene, including everything from indie to rock to metal. And the best part is that you don’t have to worry about paying at each venue.

A wristband, dubbed the “Gig Pass,” gets you into every show throughout the weekend, or you can opt for a “Tour Pass,” which gives you access to all six days of the festival. The catch? Must be at least 18 years old.

Check out blowout.metrotimes.com for all the latest info, including the official lineup and details on how to purchase wristbands.
